Research and development

We are continually working to extend the evidence base for IMACC and psychosocial rehabilitation in chronic long-term conditions. A current project is aiming to demonstrate the relevance of IMACC for the World Health Organization’s (WHO) International Classification of Function, Disability and Health (ICF). Research underpinning IMACC can be found on Research Gate.

I am collaborating with a team of researchers from the United Kingdom, who all do research into various aspects of psychosocial adjustment. Together we have founded the world’s first International Network for Research into Psychosocial Adjustment to Long-term Conditions (INRePALC)

We have a website for people with chronic, long-term conditions and their health professionals: Meaning and Purpose

Here you can find IMACC workshop materials for free (under resources for health professionals).

I have extensive experience in project management and development of training courses and clinical interventions. I typically work qualitatively, as this is a methodology well suited to the involvement of people with chronic long-terms conditions and their relatives/carers, who should always be at the centre of the work.
